Since the establishment of Simonopetra Monastery in the 13th century, it’s monastics have preserved this unique world heritage, by secluding it from the general population. Throughout the years, their norms and values have contributed to maintaining nature’s flawless and unpolluted environment intact.
Bottling Facilities
Monks and visitors of Simonopetra Monastery have been drinking this water since the 13th century. Always in collaboration with the Monastery, we have established an infrastructure that honours the responsibility we have undertaken. Built in 2021, our state-of-the-art bottling facility demonstrates our great respect for this unique region and its community.

Laboratory
Our AVATON bottling facility is equipped with a high tech chemical laboratory that is supervised by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. A qualified team of geologists, hydrogeologists and chemical engineers, support the water resource management, the environmental monitoring of the site, and the chemical analysis of the water, in order to ensure the highest possible quality.
The monitoring network includes meteorological stations, water flow measurements points, and water quality measurements points.
